OUR ESG COMMITTMENT
OUR ESG COMMITTMENT
Doing our part today, for our community tomorrow.
As we work to empower our Authorised Brokers to deliver the best insurance outcomes for their clients, we are also committed to initiating positive change in the community around us.
What ESG means to CBN
For CBN, being socially responsible means doing what is best for our business and our community. We strive to lead the way in our approach to Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) initiatives for our clients, and our entire community – not just in how we do business, but the way we empower other businesses be good and responsible corporate citizens.
Our Environmental Commitment
Every day, we are reminded of the consequences of climate change — extreme weather events like floods and fires, water shortages, rising sea levels, and species extinction. These worsening climate impacts are already affecting the affordability and availability of insurance in Australia, particularly in areas most at risk of bushfires, floods, and cyclones. With increasingly dire predictions, it’s now more important than ever to be proactive in our response to climate change and that is exactly what we are committed to at CBN.
JOURNEY TO NET ZERO
CBN’s commitment to sustainability and net zero is just as much about responsibly doing our part, as it is about ensuring the efficiency and sustainability of our operations.
WE ARE CARBON-NEUTRAL
As a carbon-neutral organisation, CBN are committing to reducing our climate impact – both in terms of the direct emissions from our activities as well as our indirect impact. We are addressing this by eliminating, reducing, and offsetting our carbon footprint.
Being carbon neutral helps us play a proactive role in the fight against climate change but also ensures the sustainability of our business and our community. A transition of the scale and speed described by the net-zero pathway cannot be achieved without sustained support and participation from our people. The changes will affect multiple aspects of people’s lives and we are committed to supporting our team along the way.
Our Social Commitment
CBN will provide a safe and healthy working environment and will not compromise the health and safety of any individual. We are committed to protecting the health and safety of all individuals affected by our activities, including our employees, contractors, and the public.
CBN will engage stakeholders honestly, and respectfully. We are committed to timely and meaningful dialogue with all persons or parties involved with our business, including shareholders, clients, employees, people, regulators, and governments – regardless of their culture or background.
CBN will ensure that all employees are treated fairly and with dignity, encouraging their goals and aspirations and embracing diversity in the workplace. We are committed to providing equal opportunity in all aspects of employment and will not engage in or tolerate unlawful workplace conduct, including discrimination, intimidation, or harassment.
At CBN we:
Governance, Business Ethics and Transparency
CBN will conduct business in an open, honest, and ethical manner. We are committed to maintaining the highest standards of integrity and corporate governance practices to uphold excellence in our daily operations and to promote confidence in our administration.
CBN recognizes the importance of sustainability. To enable a positive impact across our value chain, we will advise our partners, contractors, and suppliers of our ESG Policy and work with them to achieve consistency.
